Pembroke- Mrs. Kathryn Crosby Ennis, age 76, died Saturday at Hospice Savannah after an extended illness. Mrs. Ennis was a long-time resident of Pembroke, where she was a former supervisor at Claxton Manufacturing, a clerk at The Station and retired as clerk at Pembroke Pharmacy. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Pembroke where she was active in the Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Seasoned Saints. Mrs. Ennis enjoyed taking care of her many hummingbirds and was an avid reader. She is predeceased by her husband William Archie Ennis and parents Adolphus “Bud” and Carrie Emrich Crosby.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Alan and Joyce Ennis of Pembroke; two daughters and son-in-laws Nancy and Greg Alspaugh of Concorde, N.C. and Pam and Keith Roberts of Bloomingdale; one brother Jerry Crosby of Bloomingdale; four sisters Elizabeth Rahn of Richmond Hill, Ethel Fetzer of Guyton, Alice Garner of Orange Park and Evelyn Wallace of Guyton; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6-9 P.M. Monday at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Pembroke with Dr. Bradley Butler and Rev. Mr. Anthony Francis DeChristofaro

Warner Robins- Mr. Anthony Francis DeChristofaro, age 91 passed away Saturday Jan. 28, 2012 after a brief illness. Mr. DeChristofaro was a native of New Jersey and an Army veteran. He served in both the Pacific Theatre and the Philippines during WWII. Mr. DeChristofaro retired after many years of service with Certain T Chemicals and was a long-time member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and a craftsman of both wood and ceramics. He was predeceased by his wife of over 69 years, Ruby Mae DeChristofaro.

Survivors include two daughters Veda Godbee of Bloomingdale and Jane Diller of New Jersey; three sons Donnie DeChristofaro of Springfield, Gene DeChristofaro of Richmond Hill and Anthony “Tony Boy” DeChristofaro of New Jersey; two brothers Johnny and Albert DeChristofaro and a sister Vera DeMartini; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Thursday at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ellabell- Patricia Ann Howard, age 57 passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at her home while under the care of Odyssey Hospice and her family. Mrs. Howard enjoyed scrapbooking, card making and plastic canvassing.

Survivors include her parents Richard and Melva Murton of Ellabell; two brothers and a sister-in-law Butch Murton and Joe and Jessica Murton all of Ellabell; three sisters Carol Poling of Sylvania, Cindy Brochelman of Ellabell and Brenda Norris of Cleveland, OH.

Ellabell- Taylor Marie Williams, infant daughter of Curtis and Dianna Williams, died Monday at Memorial Medical Center. In addition to her parents, survivors include grandparents Jane Sanders and Angie and Lee M. Williams, Jr.; brothers Skylar and Hunter Williams and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather James Sanders and grandmother Rosine Williams. Visitation will be 6-9 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Pembroke- Mrs. Leona Beasley Lane, age 91 passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 after a brief illness. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and a long-time member of Pembroke United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin C. “Buck” Lane, Sr.; son Lorin C. “Brother” Lane, Jr.; parents Willie E. and Nannie Sikes Beasley and sister Irene Beasley Jones.

Survivors include one son William C. Lane of Pembroke; three daughters Mary L. Payne of Macon, Becky L. Lane and Lisa L. Lane both of Savannah; two sisters Marquerite B. Douglas of Okeechobee, Fl and Willette B. Steely of Statesboro; two grandchildren Leah P. Oldham of Macon, Julia E. Payne of Macon and three great grandchildren Madeline G. Davis, Conner H. Davis and Lane A. Davis.

Ellabell- Mr. Ray D. Owens, age 64 died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Owens was a long-time resident of Ellabell and retired from ITT Grinnell after many years of service. Mr. Owens enjoyed fishing and was CB radio enthusiast. He loved animals, especially his cats and was a member of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his brother Larry Owens.

Survivors include his sister Caroline Anderson of Savannah; two brothers Junior Glisson and Eddie Glisson of Savannah; long-time companion Genelle Powell of Ellabell and her children Charles Powell of Clito, Martha Wilson of Bulloch County, Willard Powell, Jr. of Ellabell, Lynell Wright of Bulloch County, William L. Powell of Bulloch County and Marie Powell of Rincon.

Ellabell- Mrs. Flora Jean Byrd Lee, age 72 died Monday, Dec. 26 at her home. Mrs. Lee was a long time resident of Ellabell and the co-owner and co-operator of Henry’s Bait & Tackle Shop. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, enjoyed fishing, and was well known in Ellabell for her Christmas lights. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Henry M. Lee, a sister Peggy J. Burke and her parents James M. Byrd and Gladys Bennett McKinnon.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Amanda Daniels of Ellabell, two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Buddy Davis, and Haroldene and Dows Davis all of Ellabell; a brother, J.M. and Ann Byrd of Byron, GA., brother-in-law Billy Burke of Uvalda; seven grandchildren and spouses, Marie Patterson, Angel and Shaun Page, Brandy and Brannen Edwards, Jessie Hurt and Tami Adams, James and Acacia Davis, Chuck Daniels, and Toni and Stephen Curl.

Athens- Bernice Cribbs Hamilton Ozburn, age 65 died Sunday at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Ozburn, a long time resident of Athens, was of the Baptist faith, and was active in Relay for Life. She was housekeeper for several families in the Athens area, loved dancing, being around the water, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Ozburn was predeceased by a daughter Ouida Faye Hamilton, and brothers Buck and David Cribbs; and her parents Willie J. and Mary Alice McKenzie Cribbs.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years Mark Ozburn of Athens, two daughters and son-in-laws, Kristy and Ryan Shuman of Comer, GA, and Elaine and Daniel Webster of Pembroke; a sister Genell Powell of Black Creek, and three grand children, Austin and Morgan Webster and Ryan Shuman II and many other relatives.

Black Creek- Mrs. Mittie Mae Howell Newman, age 86 died Thursday evening, Dec. 15 at her home while surrounded by her family. Mrs. Newman was a life-long resident of Bryan County and was a member of the Methodist faith. She was a homemaker and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her husband of over 68 years, Mr. Jesse C. Newman and parents Mittie and John Esmond Howell.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Derrell and Debbie Newman of Pembroke; two daughters and son-in-laws Tera and Vernon Sims of Black Creek and Brenda and Danny Cox of Black Creek; three granddaughters and their husbands Michelle and Dennis Seger, Malinda and Joel Flake and Tanya and Stan Epperson; great grandchildren Lindsay and Timmy Stillwell, Logan Seger, Payton Flake and Tanner Flake; and several nieces and nephews.

SSgt Billy Gene Marshall

Pembroke- SSgt Billy Gene Marshall, age 81 died Saturday, Dec. 10 at Camellia Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Marshall retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in both the Korean and Vietnam War and was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Marshall was a member of the Pembroke American Legion, a 33 degree Master Mason, was the Past Master of his lodge, and was a Shriner. He was also a past president of the Pembroke Lions Club, formerly served as Vice District Governor, District Governor and was the former Associate Director of the camp for the blind. Mr. Marshall was inducted into the Lions Hall of Fame in 2003 and was a Melvin Jones Fellow.

Survivors include daughter Patricia Ann Goodwin, son William David Marshall, ex-wife Mary A. “Peggy” Marshall all of Pembroke, brother and sister-in-law Charles Donald and Chris Marshall of Simi Valley, CA, and sister Anita Marshall of Fillmore, CA.
